John "J.B." Lewis is one of the top optimizers in Chip's Challenge, being fourth place in Chip's Challenge 1 (5,977,670), second place in CCLP2 (6,050,970), second place in CCLP3 (6,094,100), second place in CCLP1 (6,006,040), and tied first place in CCLP4 (6,111,370) with Jeffrey Bardon. He also has first place in four of the five Lynx scoreboards for CC1, CCLP1, CCLP2, and CCLP4. He maintains second place in CCLP3 after Eddy Limb retook first place late last year.

Among his many high scores, the most famous in each set are generally known as the first 306 in Follow the Glacier Brick Road, whose boosting was once thought to be humanly impossible to perform, and the almost inhumanly unlucky 436 route to Blobnet (though strategy, readable on its page, helps out quite a bit).

J.B.'s talent, often known as prodigious, is usually best seen in squeezing the last few seconds out of a level, using roundabout routes, efficient block pushing, and laser-accurate monster usage.

J.B was also the group leader of the CCLP3 staff. Thirty-three of his 99 eligible levels were placed into CCLP3, which was the most of any designer. He reprised his role as staff leader for CCLP1, and had 13 of his levels make it into the final set.

Level sets
J.B has numerous level sets available online. JL1 contains 101 levels, many of which were available in a more primitive form in his previous set JohnL1, which since has been taken offline. JohnL2 was a set created to emulate the style of AndrewB1, and thus is only compatible with the MS ruleset.

His next set, JBLP1, has had two different iterations. The first was a 100 level set that eased the difficulty curve of JL1 by swapping out some levels for new ones and making existing ones more fair. After the construction of JBLP1, he began work on JBLP2, but was quickly running short on ideas to fill in 100 levels. In August 2014, he revamped the existing JBLP1 by adding new levels from JBLP2 and swapping out others, bringing the level total to 149.

Later, in May 2015, Chip's Challenge 2 was finally released on Steam. J.B. released a new 100-level set titled Centennium, which was a collection of ported levels from JBLP1 with added bonus flags and decorative floors and walls, which at the time were two of CC2's largest differences from the first game. He began work on a second set titled Centennium II which featured original compositions, but once again found himself short of ideas, this time after a whopping 10 levels. Eight of these levels ended up in Chip's Challenge 2 Level Pack 1.

Between then and his latest set he spent most of his Chip's Challenge time optimizing, until 2018 when he started his magnum opus for Chip's Challenge 1 level designing: Walls of CCLP1. This new 149-level set, inspired by other sets such as Walls of CCLP4 and Walls of CCLP3 from other designers, features 149 brand new levels using the walls of Chip's Challenge Level Pack 1.

Lexy's Labyrinth, commonly refered to as Lexy or LL, is an open-source web-based Chip's Challenge clone and tileset created by Eevee. It is written in Javascript and can be played in any modern web browser.

History
Eevee first played Chip's Challenge as part of the Best of Microsoft Entertainment Pack (BOWEP) and, upon learning of the release problems regarding Chip's Challenge 2 in 2002, decided to create her own version in QBasic. This game was turn-based (similar to SuperCC) and lacked many tiles, including monsters. The project was soon abandoned.

In 2015, Eevee played Chip's Challenge 2 following its Steam release. However, later updates to the game's level editor caused it to stop working on Linux-based operating systems. Frustrated with this, Eevee started working on Lexy's Labyrinth in 2020, which was met with positive reception from the community.

Features
Lexy's Labyrinth's ruleset is largely similar to that of the Steam version of Chip's Challenge, with additional similarities to Lynx. It supports nearly all Chip's Challenge 1 tiles (except unused and invalid), nearly all Chip's Challenge 2 tiles (except for voodoo tiles and other obscurities), as well as various custom tiles; for example, in order to properly use recessed walls as implemented in CC1, doubly-recessed walls were created and used when a recessed wall begins beneath an actor.

By default, Lexy's Labyrinth includes CCLP1, CCLXP2, CCLP3 and CCLP4. However, the player can also upload additional levels to the site (including CC1 and CC2) to the site to play them. Uploaded files can be in DAT, C2M or C2G format. The game also includes a web-based level editor, although it is still in early development.

By default, Lexy's Labyrinth ships with its own tileset, also created by Eevee. Chip is replaced with Lexy, an anthropomorphic female fox who previously appeared in other games created by Eevee. Melinda is replaced with Lexy's girlfriend Cerise (another existing character from Eevee), and computer chips are hearts. Anders Kaseorg's public domain Tile World tileset is also available.

CCTools is a suite of programs for Chip's Challenge, created by Michael Hansen. It contains CCEdit, a level editor; CCLM (Chip's Challenge Level Manager), a program for playing levels; and CCHack, which can be used to customize the Chip's Challenge program itself.

Version 3.0, containing the above tools as well as CC2Edit, is currently in beta.

Chip's Challenge Creator, commonly known as CCCreator, is a level editor developed by The Architect. It is the only editor that can create both CC1 and CC2 levels.

History
When Chip's Challenge 2 was released in 2015, a built-in level editor was included as DLC. However, this official editor faced criticism for being hard to use and lacking several features commonly available for CC1 editors. While Chuck Sommerville released a simple script, dat2c2g, to convert DAT files into CC2 levelsets, several people experienced issues getting it to run. The Architect therefore decided to create his own editor to address these issues.

The project was publicly announced on CCZone in November 2016. In August 2017, private beta testing of CCCreator to find bugs began. The first public beta release took place on January 2, 2018. In order to make sure people are always using the latest public beta version, previous beta versions are set to expire and become unusable a few months after release, displaying a message instructing the user to update to the latest version. This practice will be discontinued in the future with the first full-feature release, version 1.0.

Platform support
CCCreator is written in the Java programming language and distributed in a JAR file; therefore, it can run on any system that supports Java 8 or later, including Windows, MacOS, Linux and even Haiku.

File formats
CCCreator, by default, saves levelsets in the Chip's Challenge Series (.ccs) file format using the Chip's Challenge Unified Data Model (CCUDM), developed by The Architect to store levelset data in a version-independent way. Such files can store all levelset-related information, including not only the levels, but also CCX and C2G data. Data can be imported to a CCS file; for example, adding CCX data or additional levels from other files. CCS files can then be exported into a variety of other formats, including DAT for MSCC and Tile World, as well as C2G and C2M for Chip's Challenge 2.

As of version 0.5.0, CCCreator can export levels into several image formats: BMP, GIF, PNG and JPEG. CCCreator also has its own level image format, similar to the level BMPs created by the ingame CC2 editor, but with a few notable differences. In the CC2 editor's BMPs, info about a level is displayed in the following order: title, file name, designer, time limit, level map. In CCCreator's image exports, info is displayed like this: title, designer, time limit, level map, hint text (if applicable).

Features
CCCreator includes many features that originated in CCEdit, CCDesign and the CC2 official editor, as well as a few novel features of its own.

There are several ways to place tiles: Draw, Pencil (straight line), Box (filled rectangle) and Path Maker (draws a path of ice, force floors, railroad tracks, etc.) CCCreator does not currently have the CC2 editor's "select" tool, which allows you to select an area and place it around the map as if you were using the normal draw tool; however, CCCreator also has some of its own exclusive features for placing tiles. These include the Fill tool, which fills an area with the specified tile, as well as the Flood tool, which fills an entire level with one tile.

Additionally, the tile selection menu separates the tiles by type: Basic, Obstacles, Doors, Items, Blocks, Creatures, Miscellaneous, Logic, and Non-standard, as well as an All elements option. A future version is planned to give users the ability to create their own tile palettes.

Placing a tile on the ground or terrain layer normally erases everything above it, similar to the CC2 official editor. Holding the Ctrl key while clicking will suppress this behavior. To place an "invalid" tile on the bottom or "buried" layer, the Shift key should be used instead. The Inspect Element tool, exclusive to CCCreator, also makes it possible to examine all elements on a single tile, modify each one's properties, and remove some of them without removing the others.

CCCreator can also display metagraphics, making it easy to see linked teleports and buttons, as well as logic circuits, a time bomb's explosion area, the in-game play area (in both 9x9 and 10x10 sizes), a gray button's control area, and monster paths. These can be disabled individually if the user doesn't want them.

In the built-in editor for CC2, having multiple hints requires editing a level's "Comments" field and starting each new hint with [CLUE] (plus an extra [CLUE] tag after the last one), and there is no way to implement C2G scripting like adding music or text between levels unless you use a text editor and manually edit the C2G file. CCCreator has menu options to make it significantly easier to add multiple hints in CC2 levels, and perform basic CCX or C2G scripting.

CCCreator's undo and redo buttons are more global than those found in CCEdit or CCDesign; if the user makes a change in level 1, then selects level 2 and hits Ctrl+Z, the change the user made in level 1 can still be undone even while viewing another level. Additionally, in CCEdit, deletion of a level is a process that cannot be undone (unless the set is not saved before it is closed); but in CCCreator, this is not the case.

Missing/upcoming
CCCreator is still under active development, and therefore there are several features not present yet. The Architect is currently working on a way to check a level's ruleset compatibility. CCCreator also lacks playtesting capabilities - currently levels must be exported before they can be tested.

You Can't Teach an Old Frog New Tricks is the 144th level in Chip's Challenge Level Pack 3. It was famous for its unprecedented complexity and difficulty long from the very introduction of the level in Madhav Shanbhag's KeyboardWielder.dat: the solution requires an almost endless array of puzzles with often unusual, convoluted solutions that have to be set up such that a teeth can move through them without being killed, as it is required to fully solve many of them.

Most of the puzzles are arranged such that the teeth will chase Chip according to a single, fixed position - inside a trap - and the goal in that sector being to get the teeth all the way through to release the brown button. Hints to this goal first appeared on April Fools' day (2010), and also feature in the CCLP3 storyline.

This level is one of the three untimed levels in CCLP3 due to its complexity. This comes as a relief to many competitive players, since parts of the solution involve several random elements, and many believe this to be the reason for the level being untimed. However, the designer has denied this. These random elements do not have any effect on the casual player as they won't kill Chip or cause the level to be cooked.

Recently, two separate busts have been found for this level by David Stolp, each improving the MS bold time by a significant amount. The first bust found improved the MS bold time to 780 seconds, an improvement of 147 seconds over the previously known route for this level. The second bust found improved the MS bold time to 836 seconds, further improving the time over the previously known route by another 56 seconds, making the total improvement over the original route 203 seconds. Odds for each of these new busts have been described as "780 is around 1%, and 836 is better than 1%", according to David Stolp.

Walkthrough
To complete this level, push a block to a blue button to remove one tank. Then take the red key and use the block to remove the bomb, open the red lock and take the yellow key. Open the yellow lock, the use a block to explode a bomb and use another block to trap the lowest tank. Press the blue button, then run west. Push the block and press the green button. Take a blue key from one of the block. Enter the water room. To toggle the toggle wall, Chip has to deflect the glider into the green button using dirt and two chips. In the next room, Chip has to use blocks to explode the bomb and then release three glider. Take the chip and slide into next room. In this room, Chip must make a maze for fireball, but the fireball has to slide in all south force floor. Enter the blue wall room. Use partial posting to enter the next room (Don't remove blue wall UR from teleport 4). Press the red button to clone a blob that with 1/3 or 1/4 chance will toggle the toggle wall. Build a bridge to the toggle button then press it. Take only chip 3 then release the glider. In the walker clone machine room, take all chip except for the most northwest chip. Release fireball to force floor and walker room. Take chip in the water room (toggle the toggle wall first). Open the blue lock in walker room. Press the blue button then block the lower tank with a block until the lower tank is R 3U from the gravel. Toggle the toggle wall then go to the north room, pressing a brown button that clone walkers in progress. Release the bug to release you from two trap. Go to the center room, take the green key and open the socket. Open the most north west socket to stop the walker cloning. Open the green lock in the teeth room then go back to center room. Push the block to a blue button and step on a trap. Wait for the teeth to release you.

In Tile World 2, when using playback mode, it's possible to see how the teeth moves through the level: It exits the teeth room (after the tank blocking it moves right and returns to where it originally was) to move through the ice passage, provided Chip didn't remove any dirt that keeps it from falling into water, and enters the glider room. As the teeth presses the brown buttons, the gliders free each other one by one in a chain sequence so the last of them can free the teeth when it moves onto a previously occupied trap, in a successive way until it moves onto the ice road that takes it to the block chamber. Provided that the blocks were properly placed, the fireball lured to this area can bounce through them to help the teeth move step by step towards the western teleport maze (since the force floors would otherwise leave it stuck forever); once there, the teeth moves carefully through the teleporters so it appears in the pink ball chamber, where the teeth will continuously clone blobs so they can press the toggle button and make the pink balls move sideways to allow the teeth move north towards a corridor whose force floors will move it through where Chip is awaiting. Once the teeth presses a green button, it can enter where Chip is and press the nearby brown button to disable the trap and free him.

After released, guide the teeth to the walker room. Release the fireball when the teeth is next to the fireball. Then release the teeth and use the teeth to release you in the north room. In the final room, Chip has to use the teeth to toggle the toggle wall so you can press the brown button using block. Then trap the teeth between two block so the fireball doesn't clone again, this will be see this again in Mr. McCallahan Presents. Then enter the exit.

Criticism
The level has received both extreme positive and extreme negative feedback from the community.

Some have opined that it is "more of a spectacle than a level". A few have expressed frustration at the inability to figure out what exactly went wrong when an attempt does not go as expected (although this is also true of some other levels, and the tank cloner in this level does provide some indication of progress).

Most of the current public solutions use an inferior strategy for handling the blocks in the ending room, which then requires the player to negotiate slide delay in MS mode. This has led to further raging that the solution is unfair. But with a slight change by using a better thought out strategy, the intended solution is relatively easy to execute.

Trivia
In Tile World 2, playing back the solution focuses on the teeth for the duration that Chip is stuck on the trap. Some commentators refer to this as the "teeth cam". This feature is achieved by hard-coded values in TW2's code, and cannot be employed in general for other levels. It deliberately operates only during playback of a successful solution, and not when playing the level, so that the playing rules remain unchanged and no undue advantage is provided by using TW2 as compared to TW1 or MSCC.

The level also includes all 4 boots, but they are buried under blocks and hence not accessible.

In response to a thread at the BitBusters Forums, the designer posted a levelset displaying different versions of the level as it evolved from its initial concept to completion.
pi^2 (written with the caret, not the exponent) is the second major custom level set by David Stolp and has a similar design to his first set, pi.dat. It contains 18 levels, significantly less than the 42 levels pi.dat had. Similarly to pi.dat containing a pi nugget in every level, the expression π² is written in each of the levels that don't already contain a pi nugget.

Chip's Challenge Level Pack 1, often abbreviated as CCLP1, is the third community level pack released on March 28, 2014. Although the name CCLP1 suggests it is the first of a series of level packs, this level pack was released after both CCLP2 and CCLP3. The confusing name is a reference to the fact that CCLP1 is designed specifically for beginners to learn and experience the basics of the game before moving on to the more difficult CCLP2 and CCLP3.

Part of the motivation of designing CCLP1 for beginners was due to the legal status of the original Chip's Challenge 1 level set. Back in 2014, the game itself could no longer be legally obtained and the original copyrighted level pack could not be freely distributed outside of the game; this would be true up until May 2015, when Chip's Challenge 1 was re-released on Steam along with the official sequel, Chip's Challenge 2. CCLP1 addressed this problem as a free, community-created level pack which players can use with free alternate game engines like Tile World.

CCLP1 was released a week up from the original release date after members of the community solved five puzzles related to CCLP1 on the community forum CC Zone. A trailer was released on March 23, 2014 showcasing some of the levels in CCLP1 as a reward for solving these puzzles.
Title selection
There has been some debate as to whether this level pack should actually be titled CCLP1, mainly to avoid confusion with CC1 - the original game and level set. Alternative names such as CCLP0 and TWLP1, short for Tile World Level Pack 1, have been suggested. However, the name CCLP1 has stood the test of time and, as of 2019, the majority of the community is in favor of retaining the title.

Staff
J.B. Lewis was appointed staff coordinator after a community vote at the end of August 2011. The community was also in favor of allowing the coordinator to appoint the remaining staff. Accordingly, a staff list was announced a couple of weeks later. The list of staff members at the time of the set's release were as follows:

Name !! Role
J.B. Lewis || Staff Coordinator

Design and assembly
As with all community-created level packs, the plan was for Chipsters to vote on levels from custom level sets and select the best 149. The special introductory nature of this set demanded levels that were similar in design to those from CC1, i.e. levels with aesthetically pleasing and consistent design, and levels without difficult puzzles. The first few levels are "lesson" levels that teach new players what each tile does.

Like CC1, the level set is compatible with both the Lynx and MS rulesets. Suggestions that levels also conform to some or all "pedantic" Lynx rules were considered, but voted against, as it was felt that this would be unnecessarily restrictive.

The following levels were confirmed to be in the set prior to its release, revealed by the CCLP1 leaks.
* Dynamite by Michael Moorman
* Time Suspension: Part II by Rock Généreux
* Whirlpool by J.B. Lewis
* Deserted Battlefield by Rosabellis
Voting process
To narrow down the levels that appeared on the ballot, the staff performed a pre-voting elimination. The "whitelist" was then finalized with inputs from the community: "limbo" levels that were fixed by their designers, and "blacklisted" levels that were nominated by at least 2 people (other than the designer), were re-considered for the whitelist.

CCLP1 voting was being conducted on the community forums at CC Zone. Tom Patten was appointed Voting Coordinator.

There were a couple of key changes in the voting mechanism compared to that used for CCLP2 and CCLP3, namely:
#Voters needed to provide only a single rating ranking each level (no separate "difficulty" rating)
#The submitted levels were grouped randomly into different level packs for voters to play and vote on.

The level packs were available for download from CC Zone as well as the Yahoo group.

Voting packs
From May 31 to August 28, 2013, 33 voting packs were released for CCLP1. All packs contained 50 levels, with the exception of the final pack containing only 47, for a total of 1,647 levels.

Chip's Challenge 2 Level Pack 1 or CC2LP1 is a community-created level set, the first sequel to Chip's Challenge 2. It was released on October 9, 2020.

History
Shortly after Chip's Challenge 2's release, there were discussions about creating a fan-made sequel to the main CC2 set, similar to CCLP2 for CC1. Such plans were soon put on hold in favor of CCLP4.

Several more discussions on the subject took place, until October 1, 2018, when Tyler Sontag started a survey regarding the potential set to determine, among other things, how many levels the set should have, what its name should be, and what levels should be allowed. Following the results of the survey, submissions were opened on October 31, 2018. Following further discussions, the full rules for submissions were posted on February 5, 2019. On February 14, it was announced that submissions would close on May 31.

Submissions closed on June 1, 2019; a total of 1,406 levels by 35 designers were submitted. However, a few designers later withdrew some of their levels from consideration; as a consequence, exactly 1,400 appeared in voting.

From June 1 to July 12, there was a "fixing period" where designers could make slight modifications to their levels to fix busts or just to make small aesthetic improvements. Voting began on July 16 and ultimately closed on June 7, 2020. Voting was initially scheduled to end on May 2, 2020, but following unexpected downtime of the voting site, the deadline was extended to May 16. Following further issues, and lack of cooperation from voting administrator H2O, the voting site was transferred to bitbusters.club, and the deadline was extended again to June 7.

On September 25, it was announced that the final set would be released on October 9, 2020. The trailer was released on September 27 and the final set as planned on October 9, 2020.
Voting
Voting was hosted on a private server owned by H2O, before it was moved to bitbusters.club, with voters logging in through David Stolp's site.

As with CCLP1 and CCLP4, the levels were randomly sorted in voting packs of 50 levels each; level designers were removed to prevent bias. C2G scripting was used to randomize the level order, so that no two voters would get the same level order. This new voting method was negatively received by several members of the community, so fixed-order packs were also made available.

Unlike CCLP1 and CCLP4 voting, for which packs were gradually released over time, for CC2LP1 all 28 voting packs were released at once. Each voter was first presented with a randomly-selected pack. In order to unlock another randomly-selected pack, they must vote on at least 90% of each pack already unlocked (45 levels per pack).
Trivia
* CC2LP1 is the first level pack not to contain secret levels or a Cypher level, due to CC2 not supporting passwords. CC2 levels can have "secret exits" leading further in the set with advanced C2G scripting, but this avenue was not explored.

Jeffrey Bardon first joined the Chip's Challenge community back in 2007, having first played the original levels around 10 years prior. Upon discovering that level editors and custom level sets existed, he quickly began designing his own. At the time, there was no interest in optimization, though this has since changed. Near the end of 2007, Jeffrey took a long hiatus from the game, going back every once a while over the next 6 years, but eventually returning in early 2014, 2 months before the release of CCLP1, unfortunately missing out on submitting levels for the pack.

Jeffrey was one of the CCLP4 staff co-leaders alongside Josh Lee.
Level designing
Jeffrey's first few sets were small and simple, most notably from this period was 25 levels.dat, which was LP'd by Rockdet. This was one of the factors that re-piqued Jeffrey's interest in Chip's Challenge, alongside James Anderson starting an LP of his next set: Ultimate Chip.dat. This 150 level set is still available on David Stolp's site, though Jeffrey admits many of the levels are lackluster and abuse invalid tiles. Immediately after releasing this set, he began work on what would be "the most epic CC set ever", a 999 level epic Ultimate Chip 2. None of these levels were very good either, and the file was lost to a CCEdit bug.

Around 2010 Jeffrey began work on a true sequel, the real Ultimate Chip 2, and got about halfway to 149 levels before taking a large interest in Touhou and speedrunning: 2 hobbies that had a large impact on both his level design and playstyle. On his return to the community in 2014, he spent the next 2 months finishing the set and released it onto CCZone. In hindsight, it falls into many of the traps of CCLP3 with overly convoluted puzzles and arduous level design.

This was meant to be Jeffrey's final large set, due to a lack of ideas, but the release and subsequent blind race of CCLP1 inspired him, and he began work on what would originally be a 50 level set, Ultimate Chip 3. However, 50 levels were reached much sooner than expected, and as he was not out of ideas, the set expanded into another full 149 level set, slated to be released in October 2014. Jeffrey also has a ruleset-specific set called Ultimate Chip i^e available on pieguy's site, taking the role of the traditional rejects set.

The second half of 2014 saw the creation and release of Ultimate Chip 4. Regarded to be Jeffrey's best set, it focused more on interesting and fun concepts, as well as varied gameplay throughout, resulting in an experience very similar to CCLP1. Many levels in this set drew inspiration from other levels and even other games, mostly from the Playstation 1. In 2015, Jeffrey began work on Ultimate Chip 5, and released the 80 levels it contained when Chip's Challenge 2 was released on Steam. From December 2015 through mid February of 2016, Jeffrey created another 69 levels and merged these into UC5, completely re-ordering the set while doing so.

Throughout the following year, Jeffrey was still chipping away at level designing. These were mostly Create entries, Time Trial levels, and the occasional level based around a single idea that seemed interesting. These levels became Ultimate Chip 6, which released with 60 levels. Then during August 2017 through March 2018, Jeffrey was hard at work overhauling CCLP4 into Walls of CCLP4, his magnum opus and widely regarded as one of the best custom sets to date.

Afterwards, with CCCreator, Jeffrey moved on to creating a CC2 set, called IHNN1 and released at 100 levels.

Jeffrey has said he will continue designing levels as long as he has ideas for them.

Scores
All of the following scores are for the MS ruleset; Jeffrey does not optimize in Lynx nearly as often, though still has on occasion.
Set !! Score !! Place
style="text-align:center"|CC1 || 5,977,570 || 3rd
CCLP3 || 6,052,860 || 12th
CCLP4 || 6,111,210 || 1st

Jeffrey has relatively few non-CCLP4 records to his name, due to joining optimization so late, but has still managed to find additional seconds on a few levels, such as the first report of 231 Lynx on Mini Pyramid and finding the Lynx-only minor bust in Metal Harbor, extending its record from 775 to 787, and later 790, though the bold currently stands at 791. In MS, he scored the first 236 on Mini Pyramid and 849 on Time Suspension, as well as worked with J.B. Lewis on Mediterranean, extending its record from 489 all the way to 498 (and later 504), and improved the Cityblock bold by a single second, from 549 to 550.

Additionally, on returning he set a goal to outscore J.B. Lewis on his first set, Ultimate Chip, and optimized it over the course of a month. He currently stands 261 seconds ahead with 144/150 bolds, and says the experience has helped with block pushing techniques and familiarity with Teeth and Blob monsters.

Through the end of 2018, Jeffrey invested a significant amount of time into cleaning up his CC1, CCLP1 and CCLP4 scores, tying James Anderson for 3rd with Skelzie in early 2019, attaining the All Known Bolds score on CCLP1 alongside a new record on Flame War in November 2018, and attaining the All Known Bolds score on CCLP4 on December 24, 2018 with improvements to Repugnant Nonsense and Duplex, though this mark has since been surpassed.
Oracle I is the 52nd level in Chip's Challenge Level Pack 2. As the title may clue in, it was adapted from a puzzle in the PC game Jewels of the Oracle where the player directs a small beetle through a maze and pushes balls into a hole in a sokoban like fashion.

In this level, Chip has to move a bunch of blocks through blue walls, which thankfully are all real to simplify the route quite a bit, to bridge a river of water. The only difficult piece of Oracle I is figuring out how to make the seven blocks on the top end to work; move blocks 4, 3, and 1 on the top row R, in that order, which allows Chip to unstack the "towers". From this point, the remainder of the route can be completed easily.
Impossible?

Possible is the 81st level in Chip's Challenge Level Pack 3. It was created by David Stolp, who intended this level as part one of a two-part series that also included the truly impossible impossible, made so by making Possible slightly asymmetrical. His impossible level is based on an impossible pencil-and-paper puzzle, in which you must draw a line that only moves vertically and horizontally through a 3x3 grid of nine junctions, and must pass through each square exactly twice. The ability to pass through one of the square three times, thanks to an extra recessed wall, renders this puzzle actually solvable.

Move DRD 2R into junction 5, at the center, then turn right and further east to number 6, where the extra passage can be seen; after Chip passes over this recessed wall, he can step sideways off the force floor leading to it - a method that works in both rulesets. Pass through junction 3 (the first junction in a pair can be taken in either order), turn east at junction 2, and cycle back through again; repeat this sequence for junctions 1 and 4, then 7 and 8, and finally between 9 and 6. With one chip remaining, pass through the extra entrance out of junction 6 and then take the last chip from room 5, with an exit nearby.
