An '''insane level''' is any level which uses [[Data resetting]] or the [[Multiple Tank Glitch]]. The term ''insane level'' originates from the first level to use data resetting: [[David Stolp]]'s [[the most insane level ever!]], which today is very long for an insane level and is often known as one of the hardest levels ever to exist. Insane levels will not work properly in Tile World, as data resetting and the multiple tank glitch have not been implemented.
An '''insane level''' is any level which requires the use of [[advanced coding]] to solve, including [[Data Resetting]], the [[Multiple Tank Glitch]], or other versions of the above. The first insane level ever created was [[David Stolp]]'s [[the most insane level ever!]], which today is very long for an insane level, and is often known as one of the hardest levels ever to exist.

However, there is at least one case of a level that is defined as insane by its title, but does not require the use of any advanced coding (MikeLrejects.dat level 341), but such levels are nevertheless extremely difficult.
