A melee level is a common Chip's Challenge level theme that involves a substantial amount of avoiding monsters. These levels can often help beginner Chipsters overcome their teratophobia. It was commonly seen in Chip's Challenge 1 and it it also a common motif in custom level sets, though it is often abused.
