A toggle chip, sometimes called a green chip, is an item introduced in Chip's Challenge 2. It acts exactly like a normal computer chip, but when a green button is pressed, it will turn into a toggle bomb. Similarly, a toggle bomb, sometimes called a green bomb, acts exactly like a normal bomb, but when a green button is pressed, it will turn into a toggle chip.

Both toggle chips and bombs contribute to the "Chips Left" counter in a level, and the counter will not decrease if a toggle bomb is destroyed. While Chip's Challenge 2 has a dedicated tile for normal chips that do not count towards the "Chips Left" counter, the toggle chip has no such equivalent. In most cases, destroying a toggle bomb is an error which requires restarting the level, assuming all chips are required to reach the level exit.

Green chips are not affected by gray buttons.
