saw a post in the newsgroup that said it is possible to hack tileworld to make it show ms graphics. how?

First, go to the res folder (it should be in the Tile World folder). Rename "tiles.bmp" to "oldtiles.bmp". Then, save this image to that folder: http://geochip.webs.com/tiles.bmp Geochip1 04:25, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

Tile World Lynx glitches

I don't know if these glitches existed in the original Lynx version of the game, but here are two that I found:

  1. A glitch that someone else discovered: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHUQJhdTrSY. Curiously, .tws files are not affected by this glitch unless the level map changes--i.e., the clones "desynchronize" the same way each time, like walkers.
  2. One that I discovered recently: when a level is restarted or the death message appears exactly when a green button is pressed by a monster, the toggle walls will switch as soon as Chip makes a move. This can be carried between levels, e.g. Ctrl+N or a monster lands on a green button when the level is completed, but I don't know if it works with other buttons or when Chip is pressing the button. This glitch does affect .tws files: if the file is played while the glitch is in effect, Chip can fail to complete the level, in which Tile World will treat the solution as invalid. However, if the solution is rewound, the glitch will suddenly disappear and the solution will "reset"-- the level would play as if the toggle walls were correct from the beginning and Chip, monsters, and other tiles will be located and act accordingly.
