Mirror Chip and Mirror Melinda, sometimes referred to as player mimics or doppelgängers, are monsters which appear as Chip or Melinda with a red background. When the player is playing as Chip, all mirror Chips (but not mirror Melindas) in the level will move as the player, and vice-versa when the player is playing as Melinda.
Player mirrors are notable for being two of the only creatures with their own inventories (under normal circumstances). Like the players themselves, they can pick up and use keys on locks; Mirror Chip can use green keys infinitely, while Mirror Melinda uses yellow keys instead. Player mirrors can collect up to four items, and after the fifth they will drop the first item they collected. They cannot, however, manually cycle or drop items like the player can.
