Shortly after submissions closed, a deadline for mandatory TWS solution files was announced. Unlike previous CCLP installments where no solution files were required, it was viewed as a general success for the newest pack, CC2LP1, and would later serve as a helpful option to provide voters a solution for more fair reviewing. To narrow down the vast submission pool, a pre-voting culling was done by the staff, eliminating such levels that were not eligible or compatible, or did not receive solution files in time. In addition, this consisted of eliminating levels that were lacking in design quality, having gameplay that was focused too much on tedium elements (i.e. lengthy block pushing), or performed poorly in other community set voting cycles. After a brief community nomination cycle to reconsider some levels eliminated by the staff, this process effectively cut the submission pool in half, narrowing it down to 1,695 levels.

Chip's Challenge Level Pack 5, often abbreviated as CCLP5, is the upcoming fifth community level pack for Chip's Challenge 1. Development of the pack is currently ongoing.

Initial discussions regarding the pack began in October 2018, although these plans were put on hold in favor of creating a CC2 pack instead. After a few additional false starts, discussions resumed in January 2021, with a call for applications to join the staff. Submissions opened on 10 April 2021 and closed on 10 October 2021, with a total of 3,587 levels across 65 unique levelsets submitted.

This deadline was set at 31 January 2022, however, was later extended to close 7 February 2022.

To narrow down the vast submission pool, a pre-voting culling was done by the staff, eliminating such levels that were not eligible or compatible, or did not receive solution files in time. In addition, this consisted of eliminating levels that were lacking in some standard of design quality, having gameplay that was focused too much on tedium or complex elements (i.e. lengthy block pushing, heavy connection mechanisms), or performed poorly in other community set voting cycles. After a brief community nomination cycle to reconsider some levels eliminated by the staff, this process effectively cut the submission pool in half, narrowing it down to 1,695 levels.
