Ice skates, or just skates, allow Chip to walk across ice the same way he walks on ordinary floors, but it drops Chip's speed to normal. In the MS ruleset only, Chip can also step through ice corners from within the ice space that contains them across to another space, as long as the move is legal.
As with all other boots, ice skates are taken away when Chip lands on a thief, is an acting wall to monsters only, and can be collected after being run over with a block by pushing the block again. The first provision acts in Chip's favor during Elementary, as he can dump his ice skates to slide quicker to the exit.
