The floor mimic is a monster introduced in Chip's Challenge 2. Normally, they have the appearance of a floor tile and follow Chip or Melinda at 1.25 m/s (5 m/s for 1 move, then waits 3 moves). If Chip or Melinda equips the secret eye, they have the appearance of a raised bump; however, the secret eye will not reveal what is under floor mimics, even though it reveals objects hidden under most other tiles. Having the "smooth scroll" option checked (the default setting) shows their movement even without the secret eye.
