The turtle is a terrain introduced in Chip's Challenge 2. Turtles behave like a combination of recessed walls and water: with exceptions explained below, all movable objects can step on turtles, but once they step off, the turtles "sink", leaving behind a splash on the resulting water.

Turtles do not sink when ships step off of them. Fire boxes and ghosts will treat them as walls, even when carrying flippers. If Chip or Melinda attempts to push a block of any type off of a turtle, the block will be flicked off: the splash will prevent the player from following.
