A directional block is a special type of block introduced in Chip's Challenge 2 which can be pushed by Chip, Melinda, rovers, and yellow tanks. They can only be pushed in the directions indicated by their arrows.

Like ice blocks, multiple directional blocks in a row can be pushed simultaneously. They can also push ice blocks and vice versa. Unlike ice blocks, though, they can push dirt blocks, while dirt blocks cannot push them. They turn into floor, rather than dirt, when pushed into water, and are destroyed when pushed into fire, flame jets, or slime, without changing the terrain. Tiles underneath directional blocks are always visible, even without the secret eye.

The directions of a directional block can only be changed with train tracks, as demonstrated by the level Turning Point. Force floors and ice will not change their directions.
