I don't think those should be merged, since the causes are very different. One has to do with splash animation code not being canceled on level reset, and the other has something to do with spring mining. Plus, the spring mining case seems limited to blocks, whereas the other does not. On second thought: i didn't realize how much could be done with the effects of the glitches. I guess it's justified. [[User:Random 8|Random 8]] ([[User talk:Random 8|talk]]) 14:22, 10 April 2020 (CDT) |

Chip's Challenge release date?[edit]
Was Chip's Challenge released in 1989 or 1992? Icy001(talk)

- The Atari version was 1989 - MS's was 1992. Pillowpc2001 23:49, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Advanced coding glitches.[edit]
I hit Save accidentally for some odd reason while typing my edit summary (I despise Macs!). What I was saying was that Resurrection is a bit too close to the Frankenstein Glitch, so I renamed it before it is officially christened. Chip technically is "reincarnated", if you mean when he was killed in the most insane level ever.
Also, reply back with cursory descriptions of the other ones so the names can be reviewed. Octavarium64 13:29, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
- I was referring to the glitch where if a clone button is connected to a nonmoving monster, it will become moving again. 71.184.175.100 13:33, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
- Is that necessarily a glitch? The red button article covers this instance. If so, the monster had never "died", so the name could still be worth changing. Octavarium64 14:06, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, I guess it's covered enough in the red button article Geochip1 21:32, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
Knight's move bug[edit]
I just remembered this bug. Anybody have information on it? (see pi.dat #23)
Jamesa7171 06:00, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
I do - in fact, the Community Corner tells about it. It will be named Knight Glitch.
An old version of The Lost Levels contained a slightly different version of Maze-a-Rama, such that the teeth in the trap is affected by the Knight Glitch. The cause seems to be some buried tiles under water, as that is the only difference. Apparently, it occurs when the teeth is first in the monster list, but that doesn't tell me anything and it actually doesn't work in several situations.
I have this on AVI, and I'll be happy to post it... Octavarium64 18:37, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
Happens only in old versions of windows (I wanna say xp is the first version that eliminated knight move, but don't quote me on it). It's an instance of the Boss/Controller glitch where there's no controller. Davidstolp 22:28, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
Well, nice to get you around here...and the reason this doesn't happen on Pain is, of course, because the walls block the bug from moving that wat. The glitch seems to have occurred because nothing seemed out of the ordinary on Pain when the bug's trap was released, so the incorrect code was not found. This is going to be part of the article eventually.
And we will need some more info on the other glitches, particularly Teleport Skip and Convergence... Octavarium64 22:36, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
Re: merging block deletion and waterbortion[edit]
Original html comment, for context (presumably ncrecc's?):
"Merge waterbortion and tyler's cool railroad block crusher into one article about vanishing/summoning blocks; add a link to that article to the article on spring mining since spring mining a block with another block can make the block you're pushing vanish"
I don't think those should be merged, since the causes are very different.
